I paint because I love it, and it adds character to any inanimate object. Whether it is a wall or a footpath. It brings the streets to life.

Memorial Day Weekend - 2009

Mon May 25, 2009, 6:05 AM
So it's been a while since I've hung out in the community and I thought I'd drop in and say howdy. Over the Winter and a good portion of Spring I've been doing a lot of different things and haven't really shot anything new. Hopefully that's all about to change.

About mid last week I finally bit the bullet after almost 2 years of waiting around for the "right time" to buy a new camera. The right time being, I had the money to pay for it. Well, with the current state of the economy and most folks being wary to spend money, thereby making companies cut back on peoples hours (economic catch-22) it's been difficult to save any money to do so. After many moons of waiting for this right time to happen, and not seeing it on the horizon, I decided to just buy the camera with someone elses money (creditor) and see if I could do my little part to help bolster the economy. Sure, not one of the smartest things I've ever done as I owe enough money as it is, but waiting around for the right time is not always the best way to go about things. The right time to each person changes on a daily basis as a multitude of circumstances tend to creep up, thereby stalling the process dead in it's tracks. I find it hard to move forward if your in a rut, of any sort, and decided the only way to break the cycle was to just dive in to the shallow end and hope I get enough arc to miss the bottom.

Having said this, I'm the new owner of the extremely versatile Nikon D90.
[cheers from the crowd]

On Sunday, the annual Ride to the Wall, otherwise known as Rolling Thunder, took place in less than pristine weather conditions. Having injured my back in my sleep Saturday night, walking around town yesterday was not the most pleasant experience I've had in a while. I did get some pretty decent shots of the ride as well as the normal flower and architecture pictures I take when in Wahington DC. Over the next few days I'll be posting some of those shots. Had the weather been more hospitable, and my now much worse back pain not hampered my efforts, I would have more to offer.

I hope everyones weekend was a good one. Take care.

Thank you very much for the favorites Michael
Your work is simply stunning! I just recently got into photography, and have been pleased with my work so far, but then I see an incredible artist such as yourself and my work pales in comparison. I hope you don't mind if I :+devwatch: you.

You are the drug I never knew I was addicted to...

I'm very pleased you like my images, truly, always nice to have someone appreciate what you do.
Thank you.
